easy packaging idea...

So, I'm hosting a little open-house this weekend at my home. This open-house is for women only (well, that wasn't exactly specified on the invitations, but I'm pretty sure that only women will be in attendance). OK...strike that, because upon further thinking, I realized that it was specified in the invitations..."Mom's Day Out" - that's pretty specific y'all...geez Mag...It's sort-of like a little "Celebrate Spring" get-together with lunch and desserts (or should I say desserts & lunch...way more desserts than lunch-type-things...)

I always like to make sure that when I have a party, I give a little something to my guests to let them know how much I appreciate them...

Sooo, as I walking through Michael's yesterday I came across these journals in the $1.00 section (actually in my Michael's it's more like a $1, $2, $3 & $5 section).

I immediately fell in love with them...I adore little pads of paper and these aqua ones were EXACTLY the color I'm using in a lot of my decorations...

I didn't want to just leave them out for people to pick up on their way out...I wanted to dress them up a little...enter my burlap sheeting & twine...

I've had this burlap in my stash forever, but I'm pretty sure they sell it at Michaels (and probably other craft stores) in the floral section...same with the twine...(probably).

Wrap a little burlap here, a little twine there and done! I really love the look, feel (and, can you believe it, smell) of burlap. And I love the rough, gritty texture with the more elegant blue and curves of the notebook. Definitely my kinda thing...
