...happy mother's day...{the giveaway}

**First off! Emily at WhipperBerry featured my blog on her amazing blog this morning!!! Talk about an amazing way to start the weekend!!! Go check out WhipperBerry (if you haven't already)...be prepared to be amazed...** And thank you so much, Emily!!! (Wow...I just used the word "amazing" 3 times...)

Now...Mother's Day is right around the corner...what have you gotten for yourself? Nothing? Yeah, no, me either...BUT, I have a solution to that problem...

...one lucky blog reader will win these 3 (that's right, three!) little pouches for herself (or for anyone she decides to give them to...). Each little bag is a different size (6"x6", 7"x6" & 7"x7"), is reversible & ties with a preppy-striped ribbon.

Fun, huh?

There are 3 ways to enter the giveaway:

1. Leave a comment letting me know the best (or worst!) Mother's Day gift you ever received or gave (yes, I do realize not everyone is a mother, but almost everyone has had a mother at one time or another)...

2. Tweet about this giveaway or post it on FB...

3. Blog about this giveaway & leave a link with your post...

Oh, and it would be great if you followed my blog ('cause you're sure to find something you love here...), but it's not required...

Leave a separate comment for each entry...and please leave your email address if it's not connected to your post (i.e. if you're a "no-reply" blogger).

The giveaway will end Saturday night, May 7, & a winner will be announced Sunday, May 8...(winner will be chosen by random at random.org)

Go on, enter...you know you wanna...

  1. My brothers and I gave my peaches-and-cream- completion mom a school bus yellow sweatshirt which said "send a needy student to Florida" - our child-hearts thought we were so funny. Bless her heart, she wore it (never wore it outside, in the 1960s ladies didn't wear "gym" clothes in public).
I'm a novice sewer and enjoy visiting your site for ideas on projects and finishing tips. THANKS

  2. Congrats on your feature! ;)

I have to say, the best gifts ever for Mother's Day are the cards and {weird} things my children make for me all by themselves--I love those gifts!

I'm a follower and I love your site!

  3. We gave my mother in law a big cow piggy bank (she loves cows) right after we got married. She wrote "Tip the Cook" on a piece of paper and taped it to the cow and leaves it in her kitchen.

I am now a follower. You have some great stuff!

  4. My husband is great at giving gifts. Last year I got a beautiful vintage pearl necklace. He came up with that on his own! (Or maybe from a co-worker!!) :)

  7. Hello! I'm a new follower. :)

When I was around 14 (and already a good crafter, so I thought) I bought my mama these kind of plain tan sandles and "upgraded" them with this black beaded fringe. So awful.

  9. Last year on Mother's Day we had our home study done for our adoption. It was a memorable one just for that reason! And he will be 9 months old on Mother's day this year!

  10. The worst gift I once gave my Mom was a dishwasher overflowing with suds. When I was little I thought I would be a great daughter & clean the house for Mother's Day. Well, I put the wrong soap in the dishwasher & just ended up with a mess!

We laugh about it now :)

  11. Yay for being on Whipperberry! That's amazing! You must have been crazy-excited to see that! On to Mother's day . . . I'm planning on this one being the best since it's my first one I've been a mom for, and hopefully the husband has BIG PLANS for it . . . ;-)

  13. Love your blog. Worst gift ever received was from daughter in law whom I don't get along with was a gift card to a store I never shop in.

My 1st Mother's Day gift was last year when I was "paper pregnant" and our son's birthparents surprised us me a bouquet of flowers and a sonogram of our baby. Best Mother's Day ever!

  20. I think one of the best mother's day gifts I've given is an explosion box FULL of pictures of my girls...and I gave one to each of their grandmothers. They LOVED them.

  21. Talking with my daughter before Mother's Day ... she said she was wanted to get me flowers and plants etc.... She was so excited. Come to find out though, she told me I was supposed to get them for myself. Her practical 4 year old mind realized I buy almost everyrthing for the family, I should buy my own mother's day gift. I guess it is the thought that counts!

  24. Hmm, the only weird thing I can remember giving my mom for Mother's Day was this huge ugly necklace that I found at a yard sale.. No this wasn't recent, I was like 11! And come to think of it, I never did see her wear it- ever. haha!

  25. The worst mother's day gift I ever gave my mom would probably have been some rocks I picked up out of the driveway. I'm sure she was terribly excited... :)

  29. i love my husband and kiddos! but....
i have waited many years for homemade cards and gifts, and have yet to get one. so, before my late day of work last year before mother's day, i left all of the supplies out on the table for my guys to get to work. for mother's day, i received a new box to put all of my crafting supplies into...beautiful store bought box! (and i use that every day!)

  30. As a pre-teen, I gave my mother a half-used candle. Not only was it half-used, it had also lost its scent because it was missing its lid.
