baking cookies or giving treats this season? here are a few fun ways to wrap them with cellophane...

12.15.2015

Do you do a lot of baking during the holiday season?

I never really have...until this year. And now it's ALL I want to do. No joke.

Every weekend for the past few the kids and I (and just me some days during the week) have baked cookies to give to neighbors and friends...and it has been so much fun!

I'm running out of people to give food-gifts to!

But I can't stop.

And what's even better than the baking is the wrapping up and giving away!

This time around I've wrapped up some easy-peasy chocolate chip cookies with the new printed cellophane from Heidi Swapp (found at Joann Stores).

First...here are the 3 cellophane patterns available...

That white polka-dot is my FAVORITE...I'm on my 3rd roll...

And here's how I've used these beauties to decorate our lastest creations...

This is probably one of my favorite ways to wrap up cookies (or folded t-shirts, soccer balls, socks...basically anything, really) - put the cookies in the middle of the cellophane, roll them up and cinch and tie the sides. Just like little candies...mmm hmmm...love how darling these look! And the best part is, these look perfect just like this! No need to decorate any further...

Another fun way to use this cellophane is to line little paper bags with it. These kraft paper treat bags are also from Heidi's Cookie Party line...and they are PERFECT for parties or gift-giving. But baked goods (especially cookes) can be a bit greasy...and that grease can sometimes transfer to the bag they're stored in. Adding a little piece of cellophane as a bag liner takes care of that little problem...and it looks stinking cute!

You can also use the cellophane to line the larger treat bags in Heidi's collection. I LOVE the way the patterns look peeking through that little front window...

And finally...and this is probably my very favorite way to use this cellophane...

Sewing them into little treat bags all on their own!

This is so easy...and it makes me so happy! Simply cut a rectangle of cellophane from the roll, fold it in half and stitch closed (nothing fancy - unless of course you want to! - just a straight stitch with universal needle...).

How darling would these be for a little party or holiday play date? And they'd be perfect for chips, cookies, Goldfish, carrots, anything!

Add a little sticker to close them up, and DONE! And stinking adorable.

I love love LOVE giving pretty gifts...

So fun, right?!

How are you decorating your baked gifts this season? I'd love to hear!

Now back to my cookie-making...I still have 10 days (and a few cookie-less friends) left...(smile).
