something new...coming March 1

2.15.2012
I've always had this thing about doing stuff I don't really want to do...I spend more time worrying about doing that stuff than the actual stuff would take to do...(make sense?)

And, gratefully, as I get older I don't run into as many situations where I'm forced to do things I don't want to do...it's great being an adult, isn't it?

BUT, as I get older, I'm not as hesitant to do those things as I may have once been...they may not be any easier for me, I'm just not as adverse to trying them. In fact, sometimes I actually want to try them...

(I just reread those 3 sentences...holy crow, do they make any sense at all? I understand them, but I wrote them...yikes...)

I guess what I'm trying to say is...we all need to step outside of our comfort zones sometimes. It's good for us...it keeps us on our toes...and we may end up actually liking that thing we were so reluctant to try before.

So here's what I'm doing...I'm starting a new series called "Step Outside Your Comfort Zone." Starting March 1, and running during the first week of every month, I will be featuring people doing things they wouldn't normally do...for any variety of reasons. No, nothing crazy or kinky...get your minds out of the gutter...just things in their daily/crafting/diy-ing lives they have, up to now, not tried because they think they can't do them.

For the first project, I will be featuring none other than...me. Yep. Here's my thing...painting. Like small, detailed, flowers & words hand-painting. I can't do it. Can't. do. it. BUT, I'm gonna try. I'm going to find a project and I'm going to complete it and I'm going to write about it. Whether it works or not. Scary.

Are you ready? I'd love it if you'd help me spread the word...grab a button and let people know! And start thinking about some things you should try that are outside of your comfort zone. Maybe you want to be featured? Email me at msgirlblog@hotmail.com with your idea and I'll get a time set up to feature YOU! Wouldn't it be great if we were all trying so many new things that I had to run this series every week instead of every month???
