It's National Candy Corn Day!

Happy day-before-Halloween!

Did you know that today is National Candy Corn Day?

The way I see it, there are two types of people in this world...

Those that love candy corn, and those that absolutely despise it.

I, personally, LOVE IT.

LOVE.

IT.

And to celebrate my love for this tooth-achingly-sweet autumn treat, I put together this Letterboard!

Wanna see how I created my easy peasy custom Letterboard letters?

I started by taping off some 2" white letters.

Then, using acrylic paint & a foam brush, I simply painted my letters!

They're not perfect.

And I don't care.

It was quick & took almost no thinking.

And that's pretty much a prerequisite for my crafting projects these days.

We're having a little Halloween party this year...and this little treats table will be loaded with all sorts of yummies...but the candy corn will definitely be taking center stage.

National Lazy Moms Day!

Happy Friday!

And Happy National Lazy Moms Day!

You know...I love the idea of this day.

A day for moms to just take a break, no cooking, no cleaning, no laundry...

In theory, it's an excellent concept.

But we all know, no matter how I announce to my family that I'm taking the day off (the Heidi Swapp Letterboard is the best way I know how...), the work is still gonna be there tomorrow.

Ugh.

Whatever.

I'm just going to pretend that today will last forever.

If you need me, I'll be sitting on this huge pile of laundry enjoying my coffee.

It's National Sugar Cookie Day!

Happy National Sugar Cookie Day!

I think cookies are in order any day, but today especially.

So we're going to spend the day baking and then we're going to bring the fruits of our labor over to friends' houses for them to enjoy!

I'm totally kidding.

We're not baking today.

And there's absolutely no way I could make a cookie that stinking round.

But we did pick up a bunch of sugar cookies at the grocery store.

And we are going to share them with some friends.

I whipped up some little gift bags using my WeR Memory Keepers Oh Goodie! Goodie Bag Gift Guide and some of my favorite papers from the Glassine Ombré Paper Pack.

Then I made these DARLING tropical leaf paperclips with my WeR Happy Jig.

I filled the bags with some cookies and then closed them up with a little tag (from the Heidi Swapp Pineapple Crush ephemera pack) and that (did I already say) DARLING paperclip.

Easy peasy.

And now all of our friends can enjoy National Sugar Cookie Day!

Happy Father's Day! | HS Lightbox/Letterboard

Happy Sunday!

And Happy Father's Day to all of you dads out there!

Unfortunately, my husband has to work all day today...so the kids and I prepared a little surprise dinner for him for when he gets home...

We got the patio all ready...complete with both the Heidi Swapp Letterboard & Lightbox.

I really love these added pieces...especially this one from the kids.

And, because both the Lightbox and the Letterboard are COMPLETELY CUSTOMIZABLE, you can use them for any occasion imaginable.

Just change out your letters/icons/emojis and done!

We like to keep things pretty simple around here...so I added just a few inserts to my Lightbox.

I love the clean, crisp look.

And as the sun goes down, all I have to do is flip the switch on the box to give our little party that extra touch of awesome.

I'm excited for Doug to get home tonight to see his little backyard celebration!

And I'm super excited for those steaks I'll be throwing on the grill...

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I'm not Irish.

Except on St. Patrick's Day...because, really...aren't we all a wee bit Irish on that day?

To decorate for this lovely, almost-spring holiday, I decided to add a little fun to my kitchen.

I found a quote that made me laugh, and used a variety of Heidi Swapp Letterboard typefaces & letter sizes on my extra large (15"x23") Letterboard.

Then I found a few fun slides for my Lightbox to add some more green (my FAVORITE color right now!) to my kitchen decor.

I used a sewing pin, tucked through a paper shamrock and into the Letterboard to add a little more color and a bit more decoration.

I'll bet you're wondering if I'm really planning on eating this concoction for breakfast?

Heck to the no way.

Probably.

Christmas Card Day

Did you know today was Christmas Card Day?

Well, it is.

And I haven't even taken our Christmas photos yet...so, there's that.

I've had these signs out on my desk for a few days now...hoping the kids would see them and understand what is expected of them when I finally do get around to taking their photos.

I think I'm in trouble.

Menu Board | HS Letterboard

The NUMBER ONE question asked in our house is...

...you guessed it...

"What's for dinner?"

No joke...I hear those exact words at least 5 times each day.

Am I the only one whose kids just can't seem to remember for more than an hour or so that I've already answered that question?

Or is it that maybe they're hoping the answer to said question has somehow changed...(sigh)?

Well, now that the weather is (FINALLY) getting cooler...and I'm actually considering turning the oven on...I've found a way to answer my kids without going completely nuts...

The Heidi Swapp Letterboard is the PERFECT way to announce your weekly plans...and it looks darn amazing, too...

Now, I'm not fooling myself. I know this menu board won't PREVENT the question from coming...but maybe, just maybe, it'll help save my sanity when it comes to those 3 dreaded words...
