I started (routinely) blogging exactly 1 year ago tomorrow, and it was around that time that I found some of my most favorite blogs...and over the past year there have been a few posts that have truly changed the way I do or look at things...(don't expect anything too deep...these things aren't exactly emotional, philosophical or mentally inspirational {well, with the exception of one of them}...but they are AWESOME, all the same)...
#5: This post from Shelley at House of Smith's introduced me to the most wonderful shampoo ever...ENJOY...
Truly...I have never before used a better shampoo or conditioner. The shampoo smells soooo good (and it continues to keep your hair smelling good for days...don't ask me how I know that...), and the conditioner really does detangle my over-tangly hair (I'm telling you, I get more tangles than anyone I know and this conditioner is a miracle at helping to smooth them out). It is a bit pricey, but, for me, it's definitely worth it. Love this stuff.
#4: This post from Rachel at Maybe Matilda changed the way I use makeup...
Not only did it encourage me to wear just a little more eye makeup (which I LOVE the look of now), but it also clued me in about this...Monistat Chafing Relief Powder Gel
And NO...not for it's intended use, but for wearing over your moisturizer and under your foundation. And, can I just tell you...this stuff is da' bomb! Truly...I can't believe just how soft it makes my skin and how well my foundation goes on...and how little said foundation gets caught in my crow's feet when I wear it underneath. Just amazing...
#3: My post on Fish Foam...
This window/mirror cleaner is truly the best I've EVER used. I use it on all my windows & mirrors and I couldn't be happier...it really is that good...
#2: Vivienne's post here on The V Spot...detailing how to clean your stove burners with ammonia.
Oh my heck, this is out of this world amazing...and EASY...and CHEAP...and it REALLY WORKS. Exactly the way she says it does...you HAVE to try this...
and the number 1 post that has changed my life over the past year...
#1: Nester's post here...it was originally posted in 2010, but she re-posted it a few months ago and that's when I saw it...
You see, the motto on Nesting Place is IDHTBPTBB...It Doesn't Have to Be Perfect to be Beautiful. This phrase has stuck with me since I first read it...I can't get it out of my head...and I try to remember it in everything I do.
So, there you go...my top 5 life-changing posts...
What have you read recently that has changed your life?
You've definitely got me intrigued with those! Pretty sure I'll be grabbing some chaffing cream ASAP :D
ReplyDeleteIsn't that Monistat the best? I love it! I'm so glad it was helpful (and I'm also so glad that my sister clued me in to it!). And that shampoo and conditioner looks interesting . . . I last bought shampoo 2 YEARS ago (the gigantic Big Gulp-sized tresemme bottles) and have been so excited for them to run out so I can finally try something different ;-)
ReplyDeleteWow! I am so honored to have made your top 5! :) I am going to have to try that shampoo and the monistat trick. xoxo
ReplyDeleteSo fun ... don't you love the things you can learn from others? It's like a sisterhood.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to try Fish Foam ... I just won a package and, after your review, I can't wait to try it!
I'd read about the Monistat as a foundation primer, it sounds great but I have the same problem as everyone else seems to have. It's always SOLD OUT! I'll just have to redouble my efforts. Or buy online...
ReplyDeleteOh! And a happy Blogeversary!
