Ready 4 Summer Blog Party - DAY 3 - Activities for Kids - PLUS LINKY!
So here we are on day 3 of our awesome Summer Blog Party!
Here are the links for the first 2 days in case you missed them...and don't forget to link up your projects, too!
SUMMERTIME FOOD & DRINKS
SUMMERTIME CRAFTS & PRINTABLES
Today is all about activities for the kids!
Now summers, although fun, exciting, relaxing, etc. can also be really frustrating...(am I telling you anything you didn't already know?)...especially if you're home all day with your kids.
Sometimes it's hard to keep them entertained...to keep them from fighting with each other (or you)...or to keep them engaged in something other than watching TV. So, hopefully, today we can help...
Next time your kids are getting crazy, have them grab a couple of neighborhood friends and go on a scavenger hunt!
I designed this little printable to fit 4 on a sheet...and I've included a list of items that can probably be found in most neighborhoods. I've also left a few lines blank for you to fill in any other items you may like your kids to find (like maybe, 3 or 4 weeds from your garden?).
Just download 'em, print 'em out and your kids will be set for at least half and hour...that'll leave only 23 1/2 more for you to fill...(smile).

Just click on the image and you will be taken to Scribd...you can download the printable from there.

giveaway tracker...a printable...
First let me start by saying that I've got some AWESOME giveaways in the works!!! In fact, I have one starting next Monday that you will NOT want to miss...believe that.
I love giveaways...love. them. And I'm always entering them...I'm not always winning (in fact, I very seldom do that), but I'm always entering. The problem I have is keeping track of the giveaways I've entered. And because of that, I've started to worry that there may be some giveaways I've won (???) and never known because I've missed checking the giveaway blog that day, or I've simply forgotten I've entered. Yikes.
But, no more!
I whipped up this little Giveaway Tracker printable so now I can actually keep track (hence, the name "tracker") of the giveaways I've entered...woo hoo!
Just click the little cloud with the arrow in it to download it to your computer...
And remember...awesome giveaway starting here, Monday!!!
Have a great Thursday, everyone...and thank you so much for reading M{s}G!

There are just 3 simple columns...the blog that's hosting the giveaway, the product that's being given away (and it's site address) and the giveaway's end date (along with any notes on the giveaway)...(I just wrote the word "giveaway" or some form of it 4 times in one sentence...betcha didn't think that was possible...). Keeping this info available should help me be just a little more organized...and for me, even a little more organization is a biiiiig plus.
Would you like this little tracker, too? Well, it's yours...go ahead and share it...

Spring & Easter Project links...and a printable
I hope everyone has been having a great week so far! We are having some cooler weather here in Chicagoland (after experiencing summer-like temps for two weeks) and I am HATING it. I was getting used to having the house open, and wearing flip flops and grilling every night...and then I had to pull out my winter jacket yesterday. Yuck. BUT, it is only the end of March, and the weather around these parts is usually not even decent until June...so, I will live with it. But I don't have to like it.
Anyway, I have had a few hits on some of my spring & Easter projects from last year, so I decided to just put them all here with links, so that the posts are a little easier to find...
Here is a little tabletop decoration from early spring of last year...
Some springtime nest art...
A tutorial for this ruffle pillow...
and these little Easter silhouette pillows...
And, just because...a little Easter printable for you...in slate-blue...
...(just click the little cloud with the arrow in it to download)...
He is Risen
...and in charcoal.
He is Risen Charcoal
Hmmm...not sure why the download link for this one isn't working directly from the graphic, but you can click on the title and go directly to Scribd where the charcoal print can be downloaded...
Enjoy your Wednesday! And thank you for being so awesome...

Valentine's Day...Inexpensive & Perfect...because #IAmaSmartie
Before I had kids, Valentine's Day was pretty much just another day in February. Sure, my husband and I exchange cards & have a nice dinner, etc., etc., etc. - but the real cutesy stuff started when the littles came into the picture. I love packing little mailboxes with treats and tiny gifts for them, cutting their toast & pancakes into little hearts and having red & pink paper plates at dinner...so cute.
So a couple of weeks ago I went shopping for some Valentine's treats at Dollar General. Check out my whole trip here on Google+.
I found a bunch of candy for them...all of their favorites...Gummi Bears, Sour Patch Kids, cookies...and Smarties. My kids looooove Smarties. In fact, we all do. I remember eating Smarties as a kid...sucking on those little dimpled wafers until the middles fell through, and then chewing up the rest. What? That's not how you eat them? Hmph...well...whatever.
Anyway, Smarties are always a big hit around here...and at just 25 calories a pack? I mean, really, how can you go wrong? So I grabbed a bunch of packs of Smarties (at just $1 each! Woo hoo!) and used them in our Valentine's Day treats...
First we made Kinsley's Valentine cards with them...here's what we did...
We printed out some graphics on cardstock (the printables are available at the end of this post)...grabbed a few other supplies...
...plus an X-ACTO knife & in just a few minutes we had her class cards made...what do you think?
Finally, we used some of our Smarties as little vase fillers for our kitchen side table...I love how the pastel colors are just so subtle and wonderful. Perfect for an understated decoration (my favorite kind)...

Slight sidetrack here...have you ever thought about what flavors Smarties come in? I mean, the original rolls have 6 flavors, but do you know what they are? Gotta tell ya...I had no idea...
You learn something new every day...OK, back to the post...

I wanted to come up with some snappy little phrase that incorporated the name "Smarties," but I just. couldn't. do it. I couldn't. So, the "Smartie-pack-as-an-arrow" won out.
The kids like to hand out little gifts to their teachers, too, so I found some old canning jars in my stash, filled them with Smarties & added a little crocheted heart...easy peasy...
I'm really looking forward to Valentine's Day this year...I can't wait to see my kids' faces when they open their little mailboxes...that is, if there's any candy left by then...mamma loves her some candy...(especially Smarties...).
Do you love Smarties as much as we do? Then you WILL NOT want to miss Monday's post...hint hint.
OH! And here's the Valentine Card printable from above...enjoy...just click the little cloud with the arrow to download...these are 4 cards sized to fit on an 8 1/2x11 sheet of cardstock - we printed ours on cream-colored paper.

Happy Weekend!
Here's where I'm linking up...plus...
DISCLOSURE: This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper insights study for Collective Bias. All opinions are mine...but I adore Smarties & would eat them even if I wasn't being compensated. It's the truth.

Need some last minute decorations? How about a printable...
Have you entered the three giveaways I have going on right now? Well, please do! Just look over on my sidebar and you'll see the links...you don't want to miss these, my friends!
I originally shared this printable with my dear friend, Kristin, on her blog, A Simply Klassic Home, during her 12 Days of Christmas Printables party...
Need some last minute holiday decor? Or maybe a printable to use as a gift tag? Or maybe even to print out, frame & give as a gift? Well, here you go...
The printable I'm sharing today contains the words from my favorite Christmas Carol...O Holy Night. What a beautiful, beautiful song...these particular words are the ones that give me the chills each and every single time I hear them...
I've created this printable to print out at 8x10, but it can be resized to any size smaller than 8x10 as well. I've also created it in number of different colors...just click the download link below the graphic to get the ones you like.
I hope you enjoy these...and Merry Christmas!
And one extra little treat...I adore this version...
