I can't believe we're already at the end of this marvelous blog party! We've had so many inspiring projects linked up...thank you! And our guest bloggers have done a knock-out job with the projects they've contributed.

Thank you so so much to all of you who have participated!

Today's theme is SUMMER ENTERTAINING! Woo hoo! I love all of the ideas available for entertaining in the warmer months...the colors, the food, the activities...all of it.

So today I wanted to share some of my favorite entertaining ideas with you. I found all of these party ideas on Pinterest (are you surprised?).

***If you would like to pin any of the following photos, please go to the original post and pin from there...I want to make sure the people who have planned these amazing parties get full credit for them...thank you!***

This Lemonade Party by Lisa Storms for Fiskars is absolutely darling...I'm amazed by all of the ways she was able to incorporate her theme into her decorating...so cool...

That darling little banner just screams summer...and ummm...lemon cupcakes? Oh yeah.

I have always thought that holding a party among the trees, or in a forest clearing would be so cool. Wouldn't it just be amazing to lead your guests out to a beautifully decorated table in the middle of nowhere with chandeliers and decorations hanging from the trees? Oh my gosh, even just thinking about it gets me a little giddy...

This beautiful party from Postcards & Pretties is a wedding party, but it would be just as fantastic for a lunch or brunch. Oh man, I just may have to do something like this...the wheels are a turnin' my friends...

Next up is this BBQ Hot Dog bar from Jenn Sbranti at Hostess with the Mostess. Oh heck...so cool.

I love the " - bar" idea...sundae bar, dessert bar, hamburger bar, whatever...such a fantastic idea. What I really love about this hot dog bar is that there are little recipes for famous hotdogs available on the table...so guests can make the perfect hot dog with out guessing. You really must check out all of the photos from this terrific party...

Now it wouldn't be summer without pool parties, right?

This darling little pool-side party from Party On Designs (I found it at Kara's Party Ideas)...could easily be adapted for older kids, or even adults. I love the water bottles, the way they wrapped the silverware, and little containers with the brightly-colored candies...oh my gosh, everything is just so pretty!

And finally, this Community Potluck party from Martha Stewart would be so much fun!

How great would it be to just gather a few neighbors and have an outdoor potluck...oh my gosh, my "to-do" party list just keeps growing & growing.

My Christmas Tree...

I'm so excited that a whole bunch of you have already linked up to the Christmas tree linky!!! I've had THE BEST time looking at everyone's trees. It's so neat how everyone's tree is just so unique and lovely...

Wanna show off your tree? 'Cause I wanna see it...just go here...

I grabbed some shots of our tree yesterday...here it is...

I took this shot from right inside the front door, and I didn't have quite enough room to get the star on top (you can see that in a minute...)...

...there it is...

Over the years our tree has taken on a rustic, woodsy feel...I really like it. I'm not really a cabin-y-type decorator, but it really seems to work for Christmas (at least in my home)...I love these Santas...they are HUGE! If you've been into a Michaels during Christmas time, I'm sure you've seen them. They have new ones every year...I have 3 now and I LOVE them...

I have clip-on poinsettias all over the tree, too. Every year I add a few more. I love love love the look of a  full, completely over-decorated tree...

A lot of our ornaments were passed down from my in-laws to my husband...I love these little guys. They have so much character...

This was another of our Christmas cards from this year (from Paper Coterie). I didn't feature these in my Christmas cards post because I didn't have them finished yet, but I love them. They are little 3"x3" booklets filled with photos of the kids...LOVE.

I have little banners in various places around the tree, too...

I just thought this shot looking up the tree from the floor was cool...(smile)

And here's the tree skirt I made from a whole bunch of linen, cotton, canvas & sheer scraps...I love it...I just wish I had made it bigger...it barely comes out from under the tree...maybe next year...

I love how crazy, uncoordinated, busy & memory-filled it is...it really makes me so happy...

So that's our  tree...

Aaaand, I wanted to share something super-awesome...my wonderful, beautiful, & insanely talented friend, Amy Tripple (who also happens to be an amazing professional photographer - she gets the best photos of my kids), has just released the must-have photographer's posing guide...

Amy gives you detailed instructions on how to achieve each of 17 different holiday poses to capture with your kids...AND she even gives you camera settings!!! Seriously...could it be any easier? Click here for more details...

Now, go link up your tree shots!

And don't fret! I'll be posting giveaway details in a little while...

The Christmas Tree Linky Party Starts Today!

I am so excited to see what your trees look like! I can hardly stand it!

Grab a button from my sidebar and help spread the word!

But before we get to the party, here is some amazing tree inspiration I found around Pinterest...there are a lot of photos...I just kept seeing ones I loved!!!

Isn't this ornament mobile from Megan at not martha wonderful?

I love love love the large ornaments on this tree...and that wreath!

These are so cool...and I love the papers that were used! Especially that faux-bois! How perfect!

Oh. my. heck. I LOVE that you can't even see the tree on this tree!!! The ornaments are perfect! I would to have decorated this tree...I would not love, however, taking all of the ornaments off of it...

Not only do I love the colors & ornaments used on this tree by Happy Mundane...I love the little stuffty (what Ty calls stuffed animals) that crashed the photo...I know he has a name, but it's escaping me right now...

Leave it to Martha Stewart's design team to come up with something so amazing...this beautiful tree is made from old newspapers! I think these would be beautiful in all different sizes placed all over the house...

I am not a girly-girl...but pink has really been doin' it for me lately...this tree is gorgeous and not the least bit gaudy when paired with the beautiful wall color & soft, feminine shelf decoration...soooo pretty...

These ruffle trees by Jen @ Scissors & Spatulas and featured on Positively Splendid look so vintage-y and lovely... and I love the stripey bow...

OK...that's it...there were probably 18,000 more that I loved, but I figured you'd want to start the par-tay! So here we go! Show me those trees! And please...try to limit your entries to photos of your trees only...I would love to see your other decor, too...but this linky is just for trees...thank you!!!!

I'll be sharing some of my tree photos tomorrow...and I'll be giving you the deets on my FAVORITE THINGS GIVEAWAY! That is something you are not going to want to miss! 3 winners! 3 prize packages! Yay!!! But make sure you're a follower for this one...it's the only requirement...and I will be checking this time...

MidwesternSewingGirl

I just love seeing other people's Christmas trees...I feel like ours looks the same every year. Don't get me wrong - I love our tree - I really, really do...but I really like seeing how other people decorate theirs...

So, please - grab a button, help spread the word & let's check out those trees! I can't wait!

OH! And you may have noticed...the button says "linky party & giveaway" - that's right! I know how hard & crazy & exhilarating & fun & exhausting & stressful the holidays can be...that's why I'm giving away an ultimate prize package filled with MY favorite things to one of you...just in time for Christmas. After all...don't you deserve it?

Want a hint at what will be included? OK...twist my arm...let's just say one of the gifts rhymes with Path & Toddy Works...and another one rhymes with Carchucks...hmmm...but That's Not All! (said in my best The Price is Right Rod Roddy voice)...no, no, no...there will be much much more...because, again, don't you deserve it?

The only requirement for this giveaway is that you be a follower of Midwestern {Sewing} Girl...I normally don't make that a prerequisite for my giveaways, but I really want this gift to go to one of my readers...there will be only 1 entry per person, so go ahead and follow if you haven't already!

And get those trees all ready! Cause I wanna see 'em...

Everything Thanksgiving Wrap-Up

So how was everyone's weekend? Ours was pretty good! BUT, this weekend was the end of Daylight Saving Time...now it's getting dark at around 4:30 pm...and my boys were up at 4:45 this morning...seriously 4:45??? I didn't even know there was a 4:45 a.m. Does your state follow this crazy time "rule?" (I think almost all of them do now...) There was an explanation about why/how it started on one of the radio stations this morning...something about farmers & farmhands & whatnot...(I wasn't really listening...IT WAS 4:45 A.M. for Pete's sake...)...but I'm thinking about starting a petition to eradicate this crazy custom...

Anyway...my eyes are now clear & I've had my first gallon cup of coffee, so let's move on...

I can't tell you how fantastic the Everything Thanksgiving Celebration was! I got some fantastic ideas...and my list of "to-dos" got a LOT longer...I hope you found as much inspiration as I did! Now, hopefully I can accomplish some of the things on that list in the next 2 weeks (yep...that's how long we have until Thanksgiving...holy crow).

I want to share just a few more of the projects that caught my eye...

I can almost smell these clove-studded oranges from Steph at The Silly Pearl...aren't they wonderful? My dreary kitchen is desperately in need of just this very thing...so guess who's heading to the store today to pick up oranges and cloves? That's right...my husband...(ha).

If you haven't seen Jaime's (Crafty Scrappy HappyFall Mantel before now, then you must head over to her blog to check it out. This girl has the most amazing style...everything she touches turns to gold...I LOVE her use of feathers in her decor...beautiful...

These beautiful Fall Yarn Topiaries from Sharon at Crafts 'n Coffee would make the perfect Thanksgiving centerpiece...the colors and textures are so warm & cozy...love...

And these Fall Letter Tiles from Nikki at Everything Under the Moon are just darling! She uses a technique that I had never heard of before...Elmer's glue & paint combine to make the coolest crackle effect...

If you didn't get a chance to check out all of the projects that were linked up you can find them here...

And if I've featured YOUR project (now or ever!), I would love if you would grab an "I Rock" button to display on your blog (you can find the code on my sidebar)...

Make sure you come back tomorrow...some BIG announcements gonna be happenin'! Small hint...check out my sidebar...(smile...)
